The invention relates to the production of stainless steel of AISI 4xx grade, especially AISI 430 grade, ferritic steel from liquid pig iron and FeCr solids. According to the invention, an AOD (argon oxygen decarburization) method is used, wherein oxygen and an inert gas (low-reactivity gas) are blown together through nozzles into the bath and from the top onto the surface of the bath using a lance. The aim of the treatment is to finish a melting charge within an optimum interval, to achieve the desired tapping temperature and composition and to reduce chromium losses. This aim can be achieved by using the corresponding technology and a metallurgical process model which observes, predicts and controls the treatment of the melting charge.
La présente invention concerne la production d'acier inoxydable faisant partie du groupe des aciers ferritiques AISI 4xx, en particulier du groupe des aciers AISI 430, à base de fer brut liquide et de substances solides de FeCr. L'invention fait intervenir l'utilisation du procédé AOD (décarburation argon-oxygène), de l'oxygène et du gaz inerte (gaz peu réactif) étant insufflés de façon commune à l'intérieur du bain par des buses, et depuis le dessus, sur la surface du bain, par une lance de soufflage. Le traitement a pour objet d'obtenir en un temps optimal une charge de matière en fusion, ainsi que la température de coulée et la composition souhaitées, et de minimiser les pertes de chrome, ce que l'on peut obtenir au moyen d'une technologie appliquée de manière correspondante et à l'aide d'un modèle de procédé métallurgique qui surveille, prévoit et commande le traitement de la charge de matière en fusion.
