-19- ABSTRACT A process and machine for making a cord in a structure of one or more layers of filaments, all twisted with a same twist pitch p around a core in which the filaments are not twisted around each other with that same twist pitch p. The cord is made in one continuous process in which the core fi- laments are bundled in a twister (50), then the layer fila- ments are joined in parallel to the core bundle on exit from the twister, and the whole is then twisted in a double-twist bunching machine (10).
