This invention relates to a process for the production of trialkylacetic acids from branched olefins and carbon monoxide in a non-aqueous reaction system using a solid acid resin catalyst comprising a cationic resin having sufficient acid groups to provide requisite protons for reactant conversion to trialkylacetic acids.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'acides trialkylacétiques à partir d'oléfines ramifiées et de monoxyde de carbone dans un système réactionnel non aqueux au moyen d'un catalyseur solide de résine acide comprenant une résine cationique possédant suffisamment de groupes acides pour produire les protons nécessaires à la conversion du réactant en acides trialkylacétiques.
