ABSTRACT A process for producing a sealing ring with a sealing lip, in which the sealing ring is first produced in the form of a tube by extrusion, and simultaneously provided with hydrodynamically effective return elements. The tube that is so obtained is hardened and cut into sections that are of a length that is suitable for forming tube-like sleeves. These are widened in a radial direction so as to form a flange at their front ends, and are then secured by means of the flange in the stiffening ring of the sealing ring that accomodates them.
