An industrially excellent, novel process for producing cephem compounds which are useful as medicines, particularly, antibiotics and represented by the following general formula (III): (see fig. I) which comprises reacting in water a 3-cephem-4-carboxylate represented by the following general formula (I): (see fig. II) or a salt thereof with an acid chloride represented by the general formula (II), R1COCl.

Un nouveau procédé, excellent industriellement, pour produire des composés de céphème qui sont utiles comme médicaments, particulièrement, comme antibiotiques, et représentés par la formule générale suivante (III) : (voir fig. I) qui comprend la réaction dans l'eau d'un 3-céphèm-4-carboxylate représenté par la formule générale suivante (I) : (voir fig. II) ou un sel de ce dernier avec un chlorure d'acides représenté par la formule générale (II), R1COCl.
