ABSTRACT A profile for forming a watertight screen or barrier is interconnected by means of axially continuous locks, the screen being thus formed in the ground for inhibiting groundwater movements at the areas of building pits, weirs, rubbish dumps, industrial sites and the like. The profile has a thin- walled and hence very flexible cross-section, whilst the locks in the profiles are hook-like and fit intimately. The locks can be made watertight after the dam wall is arranged in place. The hook-like locks may consist of a continuous slot in at least one of the hook-like lock walls, the slot being adapted to be filled from the ground surface with cement, bitumen or glue.
