The present invention is directed to a filter module that may incorporate sensors to measure various characteristics of fluid flow and filtration. The sensors may be MEMS and may measure the temperature, flow rate, pressure, etc. of the fluid. One or more MEMS sensors may be included in a sensor package which, in turn, may be included in a sensor component. The latter, which may also include a processor, conductor pins, etc. for data communication, may be coupled to a sensor port in such a way as to allow contact between the sensor(s) and the fluid. Sensor measurements may be used to determine the occurence of harmful events, such as cavitation or particle breakthrough, or to predict the remaining service life of a filter element.

L'invention porte sur un module filtrant pouvant comporter des détecteurs de mesure des différentes caractéristiques d'un flux de fluide, ou du filtrage. Ces détecteurs, qui peuvent être du type MEMS, peuvent mesurer la température, le débit, la pression, etc. du fluide. Un ou plusieurs de ces détecteurs peuvent être incorporés à un groupe de détecteurs, lui-même incorporé à une unité de détection. Cette dernière qui peut de plus comprendre: un processeur, des broches conductrices, etc. pour transmettre les données, peut être relié à un port de détection assurant un contact entre le ou les détecteurs et le fluide. Des mesures à l'aide de ces détecteurs permettent déterminer la survenance d'événements néfastes tels que la cavitation ou la pénétration de particules, ou pour évaluer la durée de vie restante d'un élément filtrant.
