An auditory prosthesis (30) comprising a microphone (27) for receiving the sound and producing a microphone signal corresponding to the received sound, an output device for providing audio signals in a form receivable by a user of the prosthesis (30), a sound processing unit (33) operable to receive the microphone signal and carry out a processing operation on the microphone signal to produce an output signal in a form suitable to operate the output device, wherein the sound processing unit (33) is operable in a first mode in which the processing operation comprises at least one variable processing factor which is adjustable by a user to a setting which causes the output signal of the sound processing unit (33) to be adjusted according to the preference of the user for the characteristics of the current acoustic environment.
L'invention concerne une prothèse auditive (30) comprenant un microphone (27) destiné à recevoir un son et à produire un signal de microphone correspondant au son reçu, un dispositif de sortie servant à produire des signaux audio sous une forme pouvant être reçue par un utilisateur de cette prothèse (30), ainsi qu'une unité de traitement du son (33) permettant de recevoir le signal de microphone et de réaliser une opération de traitement sur ce signal de microphone de façon à produire un signal de sortie sous une forme adaptée à la mise en oeuvre du dispositif de sortie. L'unité de traitement du son (33) présente un premier mode de fonctionnement dans lequel l'opération de traitement comprend au moins un facteur de traitement variable pouvant être ajusté par l'utilisateur jusqu'à l'obtention d'un réglage du signal de sortie de l'unité de traitement du son (33) selon la préférence de l'utilisateur en fonction des caractéristiques d'un environnement acoustique donné.
