A programmable cable adaptor including a housing containing an internal circuit board having a plurality of conductive traces, an input connector with multiple pins, and an output connector with multiple pins or pin receiving sockets. On the circuit board, there is a card edge receptacle with key-contacting pins, electrically connected to the conductive traces, arrayed along at least one side of the card edge receptacle. A "key" with contacts on both sides, which are coupled to another such contact on the opposite side of the key, is inserted into the card edge receptacle to selectively couple pairs of key-contacting pins.
L'invention concerne un adaptateur programmable destiné à un câble et comprenant un boîtier (10) contenant une plaquette à circuits imprimés interne (17) ayant une pluralité de rubans (19), un connecteur d'entrée (12) à broches multiples et un connecteur de sortie (14) à broches multiples ou à douilles pour recevoir des broches. Sur la plaquette à circuits imprimés, il y a un connecteur (16) de carte enfichable avec des broches de contact (23) pour une clé, qui sont connectées électriquement aux rubans et qui sont disposées sur au moins un côté du connecteur de carte. Une "clé" (18) a des contacts (30) sur les deux côtés, dont chacun est couplé à un autre contact du même type sur le côté opposé de la clé. La clé est insérée dans le connecteur de carte, pour un couplage sélectif de paires de broches de contact.
