Abstract A full CMOS, electrically reconfigurable, serial EEPROM with a user defined protected register field. The device utilizes a single polysilicon, double metal two micron CMOS process and features a core memory element which is used in the array to store data and an electrically alterable latch element which is used in the periphery to store the configuration and the address of the protected data field.
