ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A micro-processor is useable which can be programmed so as to provide a controller for a refiner, for example, for a paper stock refiner in which flow and consistency transducers are utilized to measure these parameters of the paper stock and these signals are supplied to a programmable refinery controller which also receives an input of the power supplied to the refinery and supplies a control signal to the refiner so as to control the power supplied to the refinery. One or more fixed inputs may also be supplied to the controller.
