Programmable Signal Filters ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Magnetic bearing systems are commonly employed in rotary machinery to support the shaft within the housing of the machine. Magnetic bearing systems typically have electronic signal processing circuits which are supplied with an electrical signal indicative of shaft movement. These circuits process the electrical signal and provide a suitable response signal which is used to reposition the shaft within the magnetic bearing. Within the signal processing circuits, it is common to employ electrical signal filters which serve to prevent the output of response signals at specified requencies. To prevent the output of the response signals at specified frequencies, the electrical signals filters must be suitably configured. This invention provides an electrical signal filter which may be configured by a programming means without the need for exchanging electrical components. - 1 -
