Abstract The invention resides in the temperature control of the oven of a gas chromatograph. A variable speed fan circulates air within the oven. Vents in the oven wall open automatically in response to pressure imbalances be- tween the ambient atmosphere and the oven interior. Temper- ature is controlled by regulated exchanges of ambient and oven air produced by variations in fan speed.
