In one specific embodiment, this invention relates to the acceleration of nucleic acid hybridization by heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins [hnRNPs]. In another specific embodiment, this invention relates to the acceleration of nucleic acid hybridization by a cationic detergent.
