A medicine containing as the active ingredient either a novel propanolamine derivative having a 1,4-benzodioxane ring or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof. (I) The compound is represented by the above formula (wherein R1 to R3 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, halogeno, hydroxy, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkylsulfonamide, phenyl, etc.; R4 and R5 each represents hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl; and A represents any of a benzene ring, pyridine ring, and pyrimidine ring). The compound is useful as a preventive or remedy for diabetes, adiposity, hyperlipemia, melancholia, respiratory diseases, and digestive diseases in mammals.

L'invention concerne un médicament contenant comme ingrédient actif un nouveau dérivé de propanolamine présentant un noyau 1,4-benzodioxane ou un de ses sels pharmacologiquement acceptables. Le composé est représenté par la formule (I), dans laquelle R¿1?, R¿2?, R¿3? sont identiques ou différents, chacun représentant hydrogène, halogèno, hydroxy, alkyle C¿1-6?, alkylsulfonamide C¿1-6?, phényle, etc. ; R¿4? et R¿5? représentent chacun hydrogène ou alkyle C¿1-6?; A représente indifféremment un noyau benzène, un noyau pyridine, et un noyau pyrimidine. Ledit composé est utile en tant qu'agent de prévention ou remède contre le diabète, l'adiposité, l'hyperlipémie, la mélancolie, les troubles respiratoires ainsi que les troubles digestifs chez les mammifères.
