A propellant container for a hand-held setting tool includes a valve outlet (23) for delivery of propellant, and a connection element (24) provided at an end region (29) of the propellant container (20) remote from the valve outlet (23) and having a locking member (25) for securing the propellant container (20) in a propellant container receptacle (16) of the setting tool (10) and having a connection element (14) for the valve outlet (23) of the propellant container (20), and a counter-locking element (35) provided in an end region (39) of the propellant container receptacle (16) adjoining the receiving opening (19) and cooperating with the locking member (25) of the propellant container (20).
