A shock absorbing drive sleeve (402, Figs. 28+) mounts a marine drive propeller (12) to a propeller shaft (22) and has an asymmetric spring rate such that the sleeve has a higher spring rate and greater torque bearing capability for the forward boat direction, and a softer spring rate and greater shock absorption for the reverse boat direction, to protect the weaker reverse drive components of the gear train.

Cette invention concerne un manchon d'entraînement amortisseur de chocs (402, figures 28 et suivantes) servant à monter une hélice de bateau (12) sur un arbre porte-hélice (22) et caractérisé par une constante de rappel asymétrique. La constante de rappel plus élevée, à laquelle correspond une plus grande capacité d'absorption du couple, se manifeste en propulsion avant, tandis que la constante plus faible correspondant à un meilleur amortissement des chocs intervient en marche arrière pour protéger les éléments de marche arrière moins robustes de l'inverseur de marche.
