A propeller guard assembly positioned at the propeller of a boat and arranged to provide protection of the propeller from objects and obstructions. In addition, the guard assembly is arranged with pressure relief ports so that when the propeller is operating at high power but at low speed, such as when the boat is towing a heavy load, the hydrodynamic forces are substantially alleviated so that damage is not done to the guard assembly.
