A system for propelling a flying machine comprises a tube section rotatable onto a vertical shaft. A plurality of wings are each pivotally mounted on the tube section. Rotative wheels are mounted on the vertical tube section and on the wings. The direction and axes of rotation of the wheels are selected to produce a recurrent cycle of precession that causes rotation of the tube section on the vertical shaft and pivoting of the wings on this tube section to thereby flap the wings and displace air in order to propel the flying machine.
