A valve for automatically and proportionally adjusting fluid flow between an engine and a radiator for cooling the fluid heated by the engine in response to changes in fluid temperature within a range of operating temperatures. The valve includes a housing having a chamber. The housing includes a radiator flow port for passing fluid between the radiator and the chamber, a bypass flow port for passing fluid between the engine and the chamber, and an engine flow port for passing fluid between the chamber and the engine. A vane disposed in the chamber has a vane wall engagable with both the radiator and bypass fluid ports for restricting fluid flow through the radiator and bypass fluid ports. The vane is pivotally coupled to the housing for movement between the radiator and bypass fluid ports. A drive assembly is operatively coupled to the vane for varying the position of the vane within the chamber.
Robinet-vanne pour régler automatiquement et proportionnellement un flux de fluide entre un moteur et un radiateur pour le refroidissement du fluide chauffé par le moteur, en fonction des changements de la température dudit fluide, dans une plage de températures de fonctionnement. Le robinet-vanne comprend un boîtier qui comporte une chambre. Le boîtier est muni d'un orifice de circulation du fluide provenant du radiateur pour acheminer le fluide du moteur à la chambre, ainsi qu'un orifice de circulation du fluide vers le moteur pour acheminer le fluide de la chambre au moteur. Une vanne, disposée dans la chambre, comporte une paroi de vanne qui peut s'engager avec l'orifice de fluide du radiateur et l'orifice de dérivation du fluide pour limiter le volume de fluide traversant le radiateur et les orifices de dérivation du fluide. La vanne est raccordée au boîtier par un assemblage à pivot pour permettre le déplacement entre les orifices de fluide du moteur et de dérivation. Un dispositif d'entraînement est couplé de manière fonctionnelle à la vanne afin de faire varier la position de la vanne à l'intérieur de la chambre.
