2088985 9202488 PCTABS00010 Novel propylamine derivatives having general formula (I) and quaternary bases thereof. Such compounds exhibit antispasmodic activity. Compounds (I) may be prepared by coupling a compound having formula (III) with a compound having general formula (IV) to produce a compound having general formula (V) and reducing the compound (V) to the amine having general formula (I). The coupling agent may be dicyclohexyl carbodimide and the reducing agent may be lithium aluminium hydride.
