Abstract of the Invention In the method of induced-polarization (IP) prospecting in a terrain made up of bedrock covered by a substantial conductive over- burden, the bedrock is given an electrical charge by applying current at spaced-apart sites directly to the bedrock. Electrical character- istics of the bedrock are then measured as an index of the metal content. The invention also includes an installation for IP prospecting and specially constructed electrode and adapted for drill chain connection.
