A B S T R A C T Prostaglandin analogues of the general formula:- Image VII (wherein A represents a grouping of the formula:- Image , Image or Image , VIIIA VIIIB IV B represents oxygen or sulphur, R1 and R2 represent hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, alkyl or alkoxy, and R represents a group -COOR3, in which R3 represents hydrogen or alkyl, or a group -CH2OR4, in which R4 represents hydrogen or alkylcarbonyl) and cyclodextrin clathrates of such prostaglandin analogues and, when R3 in the group -COOR3 represents hydrogen, non-toxic salts thereof, are new compounds possessing pharmacological properties typical of the prostaglandins.
