ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a topical ophthalmic composition, especially for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension, said composition comprising a combination of: a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (I): Image (I) wherein X and Y can be the same or different, and are: CH2 or 0; R1 is hydrogen, a cationic salt moiety, a pharmaceu- tically acceptable amine moiety or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester moiety derived from the corresponding alcohol; and R2 is hydrogen or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester moiety derived from the corresponding carboxylic acid; R3, R4 and R5 can be the same or different, and are: H or CH3, with the proviso that if R3 is CH3, then R4 and R5 are H; and R6 is: C2-7alkyl, thienyl or aryl, optionally substituted with one or more of the following: C1-5alkyl, trifluoromethyl, or a halogen; with the proviso that if Y is o, and R6 is aryl, then the aryl group must contain at least one substituent; and a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (II): Image (II) wherein R'1 is hydrogen, a cationic salt moiety, a pharma- ceutically acceptable amine moiety or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester moiety derived from the corresponding alcohol; and R'2 is hydrogen or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester moiety derived from the corresponding carboxylic acid.
