ABSTRACT This padding element, particulary for use with a crash helmet, comprises a deformable blister containing a fluid which, in the in-use condition of the padding element, is in a saturated vapor state. In the equilibrium condition, the pressure of the fluid within the blister is constant in respective of the amount of squeezing applied to the blister. On the occurrence of a shock, a part of the impact energy is absorbed by condensation of part of the vapor. This padding element is also suitable for any other paddings intended for use in contact with the body.
