This invention is directed to a method of making an olefin product from an oxygenate feedstock and a method of protecting catalytic activity of a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve. The methods comprise providing a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve having catalytic sites within the molecular sieve and contacting the sieve with an oxygenate feedstock under conditions effective to produce an olefin product, wherein the silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve contacting the oxygenate feedstock has a methanol uptake index of at least 0.15.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire un produit oléfinique à partir d'une charge d'oxygénate, et un procédé permettant de protéger l'activité catalytique d'un tamis moléculaire à base de silicoaluminophosphate. Ces procédés consistent à fournir un tamis moléculaire à base de silicoaluminophosphat possédant des sites catalytiques, et à mettre ce tamis en contact avec une charge d'oxygénate dans des conditions efficaces pour former un produit oléfinique, ledit tamis en contact avec la charge d'oxygénate possédant un indice d'absorption du méthanol d'au moins 0,15.
