According to the invention, a component consisting of a porous material containing carbon, especially a composite material C/C, is protected against oxidation by being impregnated by a composition in an aqueous medium containing at least one compound of phosphorus, elementary titanium, boron, or a composite of boron other than titanium diboride, in order to form, in the presence of oxygen and at least one alkaline or alkaline-earth element M which is a catalyst of the oxidation of carbon, at least one P-0-Ti-M-type association which is bound by boron oxide B2O3 and traps the element M.
Une pièce en un matériau poreux contenant du carbone, notamment en matériau composite C/C, est protégée contre l'oxydation par imprégnation par une composition en milieu aqueux contenant au moins un composé du phosphore, du titane élémentaire, et du bore ou un composé du bore autre que du diborure de titane, pour former, en présence d'oxygène et d'au moins un élément M alcalin ou alcali no-terreux catalyseur de l'oxydation du carbone, au moins une association de type P- 0-Ti-M liée par de l'oxyde de bore B2O3 et piégeant l'élément M.
