An electrochemical storage cell (300) is provided. The cell (300) includes a core (200) having a cathode sheet (110), an anode sheet (105), and a separator sheet (115). The core (200) is located within a shell (305) having an open end. An end cap assembly (325) is provided to close the open end. A terminal in electrical communication with one of the cathode sheet and the anode sheet extends through the end cap (1605) from an interior portion of the electrochemical storage cell (300) to an external portion thereof. A protection cover (6105) that generally conforms to the outermost portions of the end cap assembly (325) is provided and includes a first cover half (6200a) having a first mating structure (6205a) and a second cover half (6200b) having a second mating structure (6205b) for engagement with the first mating structure (6205a). The first and second cover halves (6200a, 6200b) are adapted for assembly (325) with one another about the terminal.
L'invention concerne un élément accumulateur électrochimique (300). L'élément (300) comporte un élément central (200) possédant une feuille formant cathode (110), une feuille formant anode (105) et une feuille de séparation (115). L'élément central (200) est placé dans un capot (305) présentant une extrémité ouverte. Un ensemble embout (325) est utilisé pour obturer l'extrémité ouverte. Une borne en liaison électrique avec la feuille formant cathode ou la feuille formant anode traverse l'embout (1605) d'une partie intérieure de l'élément accumulateur électrochimique (300) à une partie externe de celui-ci. Un chapeau de protection (6105) épousant d'une façon générale les parties les plus extérieures de l'ensemble embout (325) comporte une première moitié (6200a) de chapeau possédant une première structure de contact (6205a) et une deuxième moitié (6200b) de chapeau possédant une deuxième structure de contact (6205b) destinée à s'emboîter sur la première structure de contact (6205a). Les première et deuxième moitiés (6200a, 6200b) de chapeau sont conçues pour s'assembler autour de la borne en formant l'ensemble embout (325).
