Abstract of the Disclosure A protection structure for protecting a surge absorbing element comprises a gap discharging surge absorbing element arranged in parallel with an equipment to be connected for absorbing an outside surge. A low melting point metal wire is connected in series to the surge absorbing element and is mounted at least in contact with the surface of the surge absorbing element.
