ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A protective sheet and mattress cover of unitary construc- tion to protect a bed from soiling. The cover has a central por- tion having absorbent/barrier properties, and having a lower bar- rier layer, an intermediate high absorbency layer, and an upper flannelette layer. All layers are secured together by stitching and side flaps extend from opposite sides of the central portion with the flaps being tucked beneath the mattress to retain the cover in position.
