A protective device for key tags including vehicle identifying indicia possesses a transparent sheet-form body having opposed faces. An adhesive layer is provided on one of the opposed faces of the body. A disposable covering overlies the adhesive layer. The transparent sheet-form body is pliable. Upon removal of the disposable covering the sheet- form body is wrapped around a key tag, to protect the tag while leaving the vehicle identifying indicia visible. Aligned apertures in the tag and the sheet-form body allow attachment of a vehicle key by a wire, chain, or the like.
