A protective guard is disclosed that is particularly adapted for use with a bed frame. The guard (26) is adapted to fit over an existing leg (10) of the bed frame and has a specially shaped opening (38) in the upper surface into which the leg of the bed frame can fit. A caster assembly (22) has an upstanding stem (24) that passes the existing leg in the leg structure and holds the protective guard in position affixed to the bed frame. The protective guard is shaped in a variety of configurations and surface markings so as to be adapted to fit the décor of the room in which it is used. In addition, the overall shape of the protective guard covers the leg of the bed frame to provide protection against injury from the inadvertent bumping of the bed frame leg by persons walking or standing near the bed frame. In one embodiment, the protective guard is an integrated shield and a caster assembly that is affixed to the leg of the bed frame and provides a protective plastic covering for the caster assembly as well as the leg.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de protection particulièrement conçu pour être utilisé avec un cadre de lit. Ledit dispositif est conçu pour s'adapter sur un pied existant du cadre de lit et possède une ouverture de forme spéciale dans sa surface supérieure, dans laquelle le pied du cadre de lit peut s'adapter. Un ensemble roulette comporte une tige verticale qui passe dans la structure du pied existant et qui maintient le dispositif de protection fixé au cadre de lit. Ledit dispositif de protection présente diverses configurations et marques superficielles, si bien qu'il est adapté au décor de la pièce dans laquelle il est utilisé. Par ailleurs, la forme globale du dispositif permet le recouvrement du pied de cadre de lit, de manière que ledit pied soit protégé contre les dommages dus à un choc involontaire par des personnes marchant ou se trouvant à proximité du cadre de lit. Dans un mode de réalisation, le dispositif se présente sous la forme d'un écran intégré et d'un ensemble roulette, est fixé au pied du cadre de lit et constitue un revêtement en plastique de l'ensemble roulette et du pied.
