PF-1383 PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A protective headgear comprising a helmet and a pad assembly. The pad assembly comprises a pad of foam material having an integral densified layer defining front and side sur- faces of the pad assembly and forming a tear-resistant cover for the pad. The pad assembly has a relatively rigid attachment plate bonded to the pad adjacent a back surface of the pad assembly for securing the pad assembly to the helmet.
