The invention concerns a protective helmet (1) comprising a main outer shell with a globally vertical symmetry plane (P) whereon can be fixed an accessory such as a clear or tinted visor or a support structure (8) for optronic equipment such as a night-vision device (9). The invention is characterised in that it comprises connecting and locking means enabling the user to attach to said helmet one or the other of the accessories.
