PROTECTIVE INSTALLATION FOR DEADENING THE SOUND OF AIRCRAFT ENGINE NOISE OF INSTALLED ENGINES WITH HIGH GAS STREAMS ABSTRACT In a protective installation for deadening the sound of large gas streams of high speeds, in particular for aircraft engines, in which a diagonally inclined, latticed guide element is erected at a distance from the engines and with an approximately horse-shoe shaped sound absorption wall about twice the height of the guide element arranged behind said guide element, the present invention provides that two swinging gate wings (16, 17), which are covered with sound absorption material (22, 23), are coupled to the leading edges (14, 15) of the free side (8, 9) of the horse-shoe shaped sound absorption wall, that said gate wings can be swung inwardly by approximately 60° and that their length is such that when completely swung in they leave an opening (a) for the nose tip of the aircraft (1) in order to prevent the radiation of intake noises from the engines to the front.
