A method and apparatus for the lining of rounded arcuate chamber areas (12) is disclosed. One edge (22) of a flexible, rectangular sheet (20) of lining material is attached to the substrate wall (12) of the chamber by welding. The opposite end (24) from the now attached side is compressed laterally to bow the sheet into contact with the wall (12). Keeper welds (16) or attachments are made, and the compressive force is relieved. The installers are now free to complete the seam welds around the periphery of the sheet (20). In the preferred embodiment, the sheet is made of a high nickel alloy (HNA) and the arcuate chamber is a desulfurization duct or absorber tower. Successive sheets are overlapped approximately one inch on the sides and top/bottom.
On décrit un procédé et un dispositif de chemisage de zones arrondies et arquées (12) de chambres. On fixe par soudure un bord (22) d'une feuille rectangulaire et flexible (20) de matériau de chemisage sur la paroi de support (12) d'une chambre. On comprime latéralement l'extrémité opposée (24) du côté maintenant fixé de la feuille, afin de courber celle-ci et la faire entrer en contact avec la paroi (12). On procède alors à des soudures de blocage (16) ou fixations et on relâche la force de compression. Les monteurs ont alors toute liberté pour achever le soudage continu sur la périphérie de la feuille (20). Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, cette feuille est fabriquée dans un alliage à forte teneur en nickel et la chambre à paroi arquée est un conduit de désulfuration ou une tour d'absorption. Des feuilles successives se chevauchent approximativement sur un pouce, sur les côtés et sur le sommet/fond.
