The invention provides a protective midsole for molding into the outsole of a safety boot or shoe, which midsole conforms to the contours of the boot's outsole. The midsole includes an instep protective zone that extends laterally of the arch zone thereof and which will protect the wearer from injury due to penetration of sharp objects in the instep area of the boot. In order to accommodate the somewhat wider midsole in the instep area the outsole of the boot must also be increased in width.
L'invention porte sur une semelle intercalaire protectrice qui se moule dans la semelle extérieure d'une botte ou chaussure de sécurité et se conforme au contour de la semelle extérieure de la botte. La semelle intercalaire comporte une zone de cambrure protectrice qui s'étend latéralement à la voûte plantaire et protège l'utilisateur des blessures dues à la pénétration d'objets pointus dans la zone de cambrure de la botte. Dans le but de loger la semelle intercalaire qui s'élargit dans la zone de cambrure, il faut aussi augmenter la largeur de la semelle extérieure de la botte.
