A ridged shell for convertible tops on convertible type automobiles that attaches onto the pre-existing convertible top by fictionally engaging tabs during the normal sealing process using the existing sealing mechanisms. The leading edge of the protective shell overlaps the existing convertible tops front header to form a tab to fictionally secure the protective shells front end using the existing sealing mechanism. Pluralities of tabs secure the remaining edges of the protective top to the underside of the existing convertible top. The rear edge of the protective shell form tabs to secure to any available part of the automobile depending on application. The shell and tabs is one continuous ridged member with a smooth outer surface, which can be painted to match the convertible automobile.
