The disclosure concerns a protective shroud (10) for protecting the leading edge of a blade of a digging implement such as a front end loader, an excavator, or similar vehicle. The shroud (10) includes a slot (12) into which the leading edge of the loader or excavator blade is received. A bolt cavity (14) is designed to receive an support a horizontal bolt (18) such that thread (19) of the bolt can pass through an aperture (24) extending horizontally through a boss (22) formed in the blade to receive a nut (26). Tightening of the nut (26) will draw the shroud (10) toward the boss (22) such that the slot (12) bears onto the blade.
