A semiconductor integrated circuit comprises a conductive protein electrode, such as cytochrome C, deposited on the surface of an apatite insulating layer such as hydroxyapatite, fluorinated apatite or chlorinated apatite. The apatite insulating layer is thin film coated onto a substrate such that it is C-axis (002) oriented, which allows the integrated circuit to be of small size while minimizing undesired electron transfer between electrodes because the conductive protein electrode adopts the orientation of the apatite insulating film.

bstract Un circuit intégré de semi-conducteurs comprend une électrode à base de protéine conductrice, comme le cytochrome C, déposée à la surface d'une couche isolante d'apatite, notamment l'hydroxyapatite, l'apatite fluorée ou l'apatite chlorée. La couche isolante d'apatite est appliquée en couche mince sur un substrat orienté selon l'axe C (002), ce qui permet d'obtenir un circuit intégré de petite taille tout en réduisant au minimum le transfert non voulu d'électrons entre les électrodes, en effet l'électrode protéinique conductrice adopte l'orientation de la pellicule isolante d'apatite.
