The present invention provides crystals of Ob protein, a process for their preparation, and methods for their use. The crystals provide a stable, solid form of the Ob protein that is suitable for X-ray studies, for purification and recovery during manufacture of the Ob protein, and for use as a pharmaceutical for treating obesity and conditions associated with obesity.
