The invention relates to a mutant protein comprising at least a fragment of a mutant dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase (DDAH) enzyme, wherein the fragment possesses an affinity for asymmetric N,N-dimethyl arginine (ADMA) and/or L,N-monomethylarginine (LNMMA), which exists at lower plasma levels than ADMA, and is deficient in hydrolyzing ADMA or LNMMA to citrulline, releasing citrulline, or both.

L'invention concerne une protéine mutante comprenant au moins un fragment d'une enzyme de diméthyl arginine diméthylaminohydrolase (DDAH) mutante, ce fragment possédant une affinité pour la N,N-diméthyl arginine asymétrique (ADMA) et/ou la L,N-monométhylarginine (LNMMA), laquelle existe à des niveaux de plasma inférieurs par rapport à l'ADMA, et ce fragment étant déficient en ce qui concerne l'hydrolyse d'ADMA ou de LNMMA en citrulline, la libération de citrulline, ou les deux.
