A method of multicast route computation in a link state protocol controlled network. A spanning tree is computed from a first node to e\ en other node in the network using a known spanning tree protocol. The network is then divided into two or more partitions, each partition encompassing an immediate neighbour node of the first node and an} nodes of the network subtending the neighbour node on the spanning tree. Two or more of the partitions are merged when a predetermined criterion is satisfied. Nodes within all of the partitions except a largest one of the partitions are then identified, and each identified node examined to identify node pairs for which a respective shortest path traverses the first node.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé de calcul de route de diffusion groupée dans un réseau commandé par un protocole d'état de lien. Un arbre recouvrant est calculé à partir d'un premier nud à un autre nud situé dans le réseau à l'aide d'un protocole d'arbre recouvrant connu. Le réseau est ensuite divisé en deux partitions ou plus, chaque partition englobant un nud voisin immédiat du premier nud et des nuds du réseau sous-tendant le nud voisin sur l'arbre recouvrant. Deux des partitions ou plus sont fusionnées quand un critère prédéterminé est satisfait. Des nuds situés à l'intérieur de toutes les partitions, à l'exception de la plus grande, sont alors identifiés et chaque nud identifié est examiné de manière à identifier des paires de nuds pour lesquelles un chemin le plus court respectif traverse le premier nud.
