ABSTRACT: The invention is directed to a method of manu- facturing a die which is suitable for duplicating plastics information carriers, whereby a master disk comprising a flat glass plate with an information track provided on one side is coated on the information track side with a metal layer, first by the electroless deposition of a metal and then by the electrolytic deposition of a metal, a flat stiffening plate being provided thereon in an adhesive manner and the master disk comprising the flat glass plate then being removed resulting in a flat die.
