A tackified, mixed rubber, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) deinking composition and an improved process for removing inks and other contaminants from printed wastepaper are provided. A preferred deinking composition contains a mixture of SB and SIS rubbers, tackified with at least one hydrocarbon resin tackifier and at least one rosin-based tackifier. In an improved deinking or recycling process, the novel composition is added to a paper slurry, either directly or as PSA-coated paper or label stock, and significantly reduces the number of contaminants that remain after screening and forward cleaning.

On décrit une composition de désencrage poisseuse, en caoutchouc mixte, contenant un adhésif autocollant thermofusible, ainsi qu'un procédé amélioré pour éliminer des encres ou autres contaminants de papier imprimé récupéré. Une composition de désencrage préférée contient un mélange de caoutchouc de butadiène-styrène et de caoutchouc de styrène-isoprène, rendu poisseux à l'aide d'au moins un agent poissant en résine d'hydrocarbure et d'au moins un agent poissant à base de colophane. Dans un processus amélioré de désencrage ou de recyclage, la nouvelle composition est ajoutée à un coulis de papier soit directement soit sous forme de papier enduit d'un adhésif autocollant thermofusible ou d'un film pour étiquettes, ce qui réduit considérablement le nombre de contaminants subsistant après criblage et nettoyage avant.
