A process for the polymerization of one or more addition polymerizable monomers to form a copolymer comprising multiple regions or segments of differentiated polymer composition or properties comprising contacting an addition polymerizable monomer or mixture of monomers under addition polymerization conditions with a composition comprising at least one olefin polymerization catalyst, a cocatalyst and a chain shuttling agent, said process being characterized by formation of at least some of the growing polymer chains under differentiated process conditions such that two or more blocks or segments formed within at least some of the resulting polymer are chemically or physically distinguishable.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant la polymérisation d'un ou de plusieurs monomères polymérisables par addition afin de former un copolymère comprenant une pluralité de zones ou de segments présentant des compositions polymères ou des caractéristiques différenciées. Ce procédé consiste à mettre en contact un monomère ou un mélange de monomères polymérisables par addition, dans des conditions de polymérisation par addition, avec une composition contenant au moins un catalyseur de polymérisation oléfinique, un cocatalyseur, et un agent de transfert de chaînes, ledit procédé étant caractérisé par la croissance d'au moins certaines des chaînes de polymères dans des conditions de traitement différenciées, de manière qu'au moins deux séquences, ou segments formés dans au moins une partie du polymère résultant sont chimiquement ou physiquement différenciables.
