ABRIDGEMENT The invention relates to self-regulating strip heaters containing PTC conductive polymers. According to the invention, the strip heater is surrounded by an envelope of a material of high thermal conductivity, e.g. sandwiched between aluminum sheets. This makes it possible to use a strip heater having a higher passive power and results in an assembly having a higher active power output.
