-10- ABSTRACT A portable heater including a housing; a resistive heating element retained by the housing; a connector for connection to a supply voltage; a circuit including first and second switches connected in parallel between the connector and the resistive heating element; and a manual actuator operable to produce simultaneous actuation of the first and second switches between closed positions allowing current flow between the connector and the heating element and open positions preventing such current flow.
