There is described a low friction puck for use on a variety of playing surfaces. The puck has a puck body of cylindrical shape having opposed circular major faces parallel to each other with the thickness of said puck as measured between said major faces being substantially less than the diameter of each major face, and wherein each of said major faces has an annular ring embedded therein and centred with each major face and extending adjacent to the perimeter of each said major face, a minor portion of the thickness of the ring standing outwardly of the major face associated therewith, said ring being of a synthetic plastics material and having a coefficient of friction with a playing surface which is less than the coefficient of friction of said puck body with that same playing surface.
