Abstract A pulling device (20), which serves preferably to pull in and out a cloth (15) for a window blind (10), has a cable pull (30), each side of which starts at the bottom end of the guide rails (12), which are arranged on the side of the cloth (15) and is attached there, is guided by means of the latter over deflecting rollers (25, 26) in a hollow section (22), arranged at right angles to said deflection rollers, and is wound one or several times therein around two rollers (31). The two rollers (31) can be moved head-on by one stroke and forced apart by a spring element, which is formed in particular by a gas pressure spring (35). The hollow section (22) is guided by sliding elements (23), disposed on the side, in the two guide rails (12) and attached to the end of the cloth (15) that is to be moved. In this manner the entire length of the cloth is pulled out uniformly by the pulling device (20) of the invention. As an independent, separate unit, the pulling device (20) is quite compact and simple in design. (Figure 1)
